🏛 City HallChicagoArticle

Your neighbors made 8,015 aircraft noise complaints last month.

Okay, so your City Hall is really busy with... *complaints*. And, like, a lot of scaffolding.

### Your Neighbors Are Calling 311 Like Crazy

Nah nah nah, let me explain – people are calling 311 for everything, y'all. The latest data? Over 13,000 "information only" calls, which is like, fine, whatever. But guess what's number two? **Aircraft Noise Complaints.** EIGHT THOUSAND AND FIFTEEN of them. That's not just a few people, that's almost as many people as go to a White Sox game on a Tuesday!

* **Top 311 Requests:**

* 311 Information Only Call: 13,211 requests

* Aircraft Noise Complaint: 8,015 requests

* Graffiti Removal Request: 2,208 requests

* Pothole in Street Complaint: 2,038 requests

And then, you got your graffiti, your potholes – 2,208 requests for graffiti removal, 2,038 for potholes. This is what people are *really* worried about, you know? Not some big development, but the everyday stuff that makes your block livable. My tía in Little Village, she always says, "Luz Elena, if they fix the potholes, maybe I won't spill my cafecito on the way to church." She's not wrong.

### Scaffolding and Fire Repairs

Also, there's a permit out for temporary scaffolding, 300 feet tall, on the north elevation somewhere. And a big one, $181,000, for nonstructural interior drywall and electrical work because of fire damage. That's serious money for one permit. It means someone's rebuilding after a tough time, right? We're gonna keep an eye on where that scaffolding is going up, because usually, like, it means something big is coming next.

Chi-Town on the wire — you already know.
