Your neighbors are really mad about all the code violations
Look— Dallas on the wire, big hat, bigger story. You know how sometimes you just gotta pick up the phone and tell the city somethin’s not right? Well, a *lot* of y’all have been doing just that, especially about code violations.
So here's what happened: The latest 311 service request data shows "Code Concern - CCS" blew everything else out of the water with a staggering 28,862 requests. That’s not just a lot of calls, that’s almost 29,000 neighbors saying, "Hey, this house down the street? Something’s off." To put that in perspective, the next highest item, "Single Family Rental Needs Registration," only got 1,290 requests. It's like comparing a Fletcher's corny dog line at the State Fair to a Tuesday afternoon at Klyde Warren Park.
What does this mean for you? It means people are seeing things like overgrown yards, trash piling up, or maybe that garage apartment that clearly isn't up to snuff, and they're demanding action. It tells you folks are keeping a real close eye on their neighborhoods, from Pleasant Grove all the way up to Preston Hollow. We're fixin' to see how the city responds to this massive wave of concerns. Will we get more inspectors? Will enforcement get tougher? That’s what we’ll be watching.
