Dallas has 29,022 code concerns. What's your neighborhood's problem?

Your neighbors are really worried about their houses

Dallas on the wire — big hat, bigger story.

Look— the folks living in Dallas are callin' 311 more about one thing than anything else: "Code Concern" issues. We're talkin' almost 30,000 requests, to be exact, that's 29,022 according to the latest 311 data. That's a *lot* of folks worried about things like overgrown weeds, broken fences, maybe a porch that's seen better days down in Pleasant Grove, or an old shed lookin' like it's fixin' to collapse in Oak Cliff.

It just blows my mind, y'all. Think about it: that's over twenty times more calls than the next biggest issue, which is "Single Family Rental Needs Registration" at 1,290 requests. It's clear that people are seeing things in their neighborhoods that just aren't right, and they're pickin' up the phone. This ain't just about appearances, either. My mamá always says, "Una casa bonita es una comunidad fuerte." A pretty house is a strong community, and when things start slippin', it affects everyone. We've gotta watch how the city responds to this massive pile of requests. Are they gettin' to these concerns fast enough? That's the real question.
