Your neighbors called 311 almost 30,000 times about *this*.

Your neighbors are calling 311 about what now?

Look— Dallas on the wire, big hat, bigger story. So here's what happened this week at City Hall, and it's got me thinkin' about our neighborhoods, from Pleasant Grove all the way out to Northwest Dallas. Our 311 service requests are in, and y'all, the top issue, by a mile, is "Code Concern - CCS" with a whopping 29,222 requests. That's almost thirty *thousand* calls about things like overgrown weeds, junked cars, or folks not keepin' their properties up to snuff. That number just dwarfs everything else.

And get this, the second highest? "Single Family Rental Needs Registration - CCS" at 1,293 requests. That tells me a lot of folks are keepin' an eye on those rental properties in their communities. It's not the flashy stuff, not the big council debates, but these numbers show us what's really buggin' folks day-to-day. We’re talkin’ about the feel of a street, the look of a block.

What this means is folks are trying to keep their neighborhoods lookin' right. Keep an eye on how the city responds to this mountain of code concerns. Are they fixin' to hire more inspectors? Or are we just goin' to keep callin' and hopin' for the best?

Dallas on the wire — big hat, bigger story.

Y'all can bet Keith and the gang are unpackin' this and more every morning – tune in at mornings.live.
