Dallas made 29,521 311 calls about this last week

Your neighbors are really calling 311 about what?

Dallas on the wire — big hat, bigger story. Look— we talk a lot about what goes on *inside* City Hall, all those council meetings and budget fights. But what about what y'all are actually calling the city for? The 311 service requests? That’s the real pulse of what’s happening on the ground, right?

**What's Bugging Y'all the Most**

So here's what happened this past week, straight from the City of Dallas's own data. The number one thing folks are reaching out about by a mile is "Code Concern - CCS." We’re talking 29,521 requests. That’s not a typo, *veintinueve mil*. That tells you something about what residents are seeing in their neighborhoods – everything from overgrown lots to busted fences. It makes you wonder if our code compliance officers are working overtime down in Pleasant Grove or out east by Casa View.

What else caught my eye was the "Single Family Rental Needs Registration - CCS" with 1,298 requests. This ain’t just paperwork, y’all. This is about making sure rental properties are up to snuff and safe for families, which is a big deal in a city where so many folks rent. And speaking of safety, "Consumer Protection Complaint - CCS" tallied 442 calls. That’s people feeling like they got swindled, and wanting the city to step in. It’s a good reminder that even in a booming economy, folks need protection.

It really shows you where the rubber meets the road between City Hall and the folks living here. We’re going to be keeping an eye on these numbers to see if those code concerns start to trend down, or if the city needs to pour more resources into getting these issues handled.

Dallas on the wire — big hat, bigger story.

My momma always says to keep your eyes open, and we're doin' just that on the morning show. Y'all can catch it live at mornings.live.
