Your Cogswell traffic nightmare is almost over.

Here's your City Hall update, buddy!

Some good morning, buddy — this is Halifax, and we have stories.

Well now, what a week we've had down at City Hall, eh? Seems like everyone, including old Tommy, has had their eyes on one thing: that grand Cogswell Interchange redevelopment, my son. Every time you turn around, there’s talk about it, and it sounds like those traffic woes we’ve all been grumbling about are nearly behind us. Can you believe it? Feels like that project has been going on since I was a wee lad grabbing a donair on Blowers Street!

We also had a bit of everything else, some good and some bad, but the big yarn this week, the real headline, was all about getting that part of the city flowing again. Imagine, easier drives in and out of downtown!

* The Cogswell Interchange redevelopment is nearing completion.

* Traffic improvements are expected to ease congestion.

* It's been the main topic of conversation at City Hall.

For those of us who navigate the peninsula daily, this is some good news. No more getting stuck near the waterfront when you're just trying to get home for supper. It’ll make a difference, I tell ya.

Some good morning, buddy — this is Halifax, and we have stories.

Catch me live every morning, buddy.
