Lethbridge City Hall spent all week watching the sky

Your City Hall spent all week watching the sky

Good morning from the coulees — the wind's up, the sky's wide, and Lethbridge has something to say.

Look, this past week, City Hall was mostly looking up, not inward. It was a week dominated by what the weather was doing, and what it was threatening to do to our little corner of Treaty 7 territory. From Monday right through to Friday, the big story wasn't a council debate or a new bylaw, but the significant weather events rolling across southern Alberta.

* Environment Canada issued several warnings throughout the week.

* City officials were closely monitoring blizzard conditions and heavy snowfall.

* Emergency services were on high alert, preparing for potential impacts on roads and infrastructure.

They were talking about accumulation, visibility, and wind chill — the kind of talk that makes a Lethbridge spring feel like winter's last gasp. It meant a lot of focus on public safety and keeping the city moving, even when the *napi* (winter spirit) was trying to put a stop to everything. For folks here, it was a reminder that no matter what's on the agenda, the land and its moods always have the final say.

Good morning from the coulees — the wind's up, the sky's wide, and Lethbridge has something to say.

Keep your mornings live and local.
