Your City Hall just watched the blizzard.

Your City Hall was all about the clouds this week

Good morning from the coulees — the wind's up, the sky's wide, and Lethbridge has something to say.

This past week, the big news from our City Hall wasn't really *news* in the usual sense. It was more about observation, you could say. The focus, look, was almost entirely on the weather. A real prairie blizzard was kicking up, threatening to blanket everything from the Oldman River valley right out past the Blood Reserve, or as we say in Blackfoot, the *Kainai*.

It felt like council meetings and staff briefings were mostly just folks peering out the windows, tracking the swirling snow and the sharp drop in temperature.

* No new bylaws were pushed through.

* Budget discussions took a backseat.

* The main topic was blizzard preparedness and keeping our roads clear, particularly in the tricky areas around Henderson Lake and out towards the university.

It's a reminder that sometimes, even in a city, the biggest decisions are made by the weather, not the elected officials. The land itself, this beautiful, sprawling *Aokaki* (prairie), dictates a lot more than we often give it credit for.

Good morning from the coulees — the wind's up, the sky's wide, and Lethbridge has something to say.
