Your neighbor got a permit for a pool room. Really?

Okay so check it—

### Your Neighbor Is Building a Pool Shed What's Up With That

Oye, so like, I'm digging through the city permits, ya sabes, all the stuff that's actually getting built and changed in our neighborhoods. And what jumps out is this one permit for a "SUPPLEMENTAL-TO 13014-10000-04123. ADDITION OF POOL EQUIPMENT ROOM." Seriously? A whole room just for pool equipment? No mames. This permit, it's from March 4, 2015, which feels like ancient history now, but it’s still showing up as a current amendment.

Then, the very next day, March 5, 2015, there's another "Bldg-Alter/Repair" for two kitchen/bathroom remodels in residential buildings, no structural changes. Which, fine, people gotta update their spots. But between that and the pool equipment room, it's like, who's getting these permits approved so fast for luxury stuff, and where are the permits for, I don't know, *affordable housing* in Highland Park? It’s literally these little things that show you what the city prioritizes. This is from the development activity records, by the way.

We need to watch what kind of development the city keeps pushing through, especially when so many Angelenos are struggling to find a place to live. That's the real LA, fam — east of the 110.
