Your landlord got 3,592 heat complaints. What's next?

Your landlord still playing games with the heat, right?

So look, it's winter, and what's the number one complaint rolling into 311? You guessed it: "HEAT/HOT WATER / ENTIRE BUILDING." Deadass, 3,592 requests. That's more than any other issue, according to the latest 311 service requests. That's a lot of folks in Astoria, in Crown Heights, in the Bronx, shivering, trying to figure out why their super ain't picking up. It ain't just an inconvenience; it's a quality of life issue, you know?

Here's the thing about those numbers – they tell you what's really grinding New Yorkers' gears. Second up? "Noise - Residential / Loud Music/Party" with 2,886 requests. After that, "Street Condition / Pothole" at 2,867. You can't even get outta your building without dealing with a pothole big enough to swallow a Vespa.

What does it all mean? It means while the big lobbyist firms like Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP are out here pushing for clients like Lamar Advertising of Penn LLC for 2026, everyday New Yorkers are just trying to get some damn heat and not bust an axle on the FDR. The city needs to show it's listening to the people actually living here, not just the ones with the big checks. That's New York — if you can't keep up, take the bus.
