Your neighbors are too loud and City Hall is counting.

Yo, your neighbors are loud, and City Hall is hearing about it.

So look, what's got New Yorkers hitting that 311 app more than anything else? It's the noise, deadass. According to the latest 311 service requests, over 4,400 calls came in for residential loud music or parties, and another 3,150 for loud music on the street or sidewalk. That's, what, over 7,500 complaints just about noise in one reporting period. My building in Astoria, I swear, I hear everything. The MTA is broken, right? But the noise complaints? Nah, that system is working overtime.

### What's Your Beef?

Here's the thing about those 311 numbers:

* **Residential Loud Music/Party:** 4,421 requests

* **Street/Sidewalk Loud Music/Party:** 3,150 requests

* **Illegal Parking (Posted Sign Violation):** 2,866 requests

* **Potholes:** 2,430 requests

You can tell what’s really grinding people’s gears. It ain't just the potholes, though those are up there. It's the everyday stuff, the things that make living here, you know, *living here*. People just want a little peace and quiet after a long day of trying not to get run over by a Citi Bike.

Next up, we'll see if City Hall actually has a plan beyond just logging the complaints. That's New York — if you can't keep up, take the bus.
