Your 311 calls are still about trash or nah?
Listen, youse know I’m always keeping an eye on what's poppin' down at City Hall, 'cause that's where all the real talk happens about our city, right? And I'm not even gonna hold you, the latest 311 request data? It just shows we still got the same old problems.
**Rubbish and Recyclables Stay Top of Mind**
So, from the most recent 311 service requests, guess what's still high up there? "Rubbish/Recyclable Material Collection." Yeah, that's the jawn. We're still calling about trash on the streets, or our recycling not getting picked up on time. I see it on my block in West Philly all the time. It's frustrating when you put your wooder ice containers out, and they just sit there, or the alley behind your house looks like a landfill.
It also seems like "Abandoned Vehicle" requests are still a thing. Remember that jawn on Girard for weeks? We call, we call, and sometimes it just takes forever for them to scoop it up. It makes you wonder, are we doing enough, or nah? You put in the call, and you expect action, or what?
This just means our neighbors are still out here dealing with the basics. It ain't about fancy new stadiums when we still got basic street stuff to sort out. We gotta see if the city's gonna step up and address these core issues, or if we're just gonna keep calling 311 about the same junk next month.
That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.
Kee.
