Your mail-in ballot is safe, for now.

Your Mail-In Ballot is Still in Play, Folks

Look, here’s the deal. We’re talking about voting here, and for us, that means making it easy to participate. So when I see headlines like "Senate rejects voter ID amendment as Democrats call it ‘showmanship and theatrics’" – well, it gets my attention. This happened on Thursday, and it’s a big deal for how we vote here in the Valley.

The proposed amendment, which would've brought in stricter voter ID rules, got shut down. The Democrats on the Senate floor were clear: they see it as political theater. And honestly, mijo, when you hear about one person voting by mail and then saying it’s a bad idea for everyone else, you start to wonder. Trump, for example, explained he voted by mail "Because I'm president" on Thursday.

Here’s why this matters to you, whether you’re in South Phoenix or up in Scottsdale. We’ve built a system that makes it pretty straightforward to vote, especially with mail-in ballots. This rejection means that for now, those methods are safe. We’re not adding new hurdles. Keep an eye on this, because these fights about how we vote aren't going away.

That's the Valley, baby — 115 degrees and we're still out here.
