Here's what's up with your housing market, Regina

This is Regina — yeah, we know what it sounds like, and we've heard your joke. Now sit down and listen.

You know, for a city that sometimes feels like it moves at its own pace, Regina's housing market is always something people are talking about over coffee at the Mercury Cafe, eh? There wasn't any big, breaking news from City Hall this week, no dramatic council debates or anything like that. But I’ve been keeping an eye on the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) updates, and they’ve got some interesting stuff brewing for 2025 that affects us right here.

They're launching a new host for their REAL TIME podcast, Shaun Majumder, in 2025. Now, you might be thinking, "What's a podcast got to do with my bungalow on south Albert?" Well, these national conversations usually trickle down. CREA also just dropped Episode 72 of their podcast, "Making the Real Estate Journey More Accessible with Jeffrey Kerr." This is huge for Regina, especially with our aging population and folks with different needs.

* Episode 72 focuses on accommodations for clients facing mobility, visual, or auditory barriers.

* Episode 71, "Which Came First: The REALTOR® or the Influencer? – Katie Hession," talks about social media's impact on a REALTOR®’s online presence.

It means the conversation nationally is moving towards making sure everyone can navigate buying or selling, which is just good, honest Saskatchewan common sense. What we should watch for is how our local real estate agents and brokers pick up these ideas, eh? Because accessibility and transparent online presence? That’s just good business, and it’s good for our community, plain and simple.
