Saint John, your Tuesday commute just got hit with a big warning

Good morning from the Fundy shore — the tide's turning, and so is New Brunswick. Let's get into it.

Your Tuesday commute is looking a bit rough

I'll tell you what, you step outside this morning and you're going to feel it right away. Environment Canada has issued a *warning* for Saint John, and that means we're in for some proper weather. We've got a couple of *statements* out there too, but the big one is that warning.

* Expect significant rainfall, leading to potential localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas around the Marsh Creek.

* Wind gusts are forecast to be strong, possibly affecting travel on exposed sections of Route 1, particularly east of the city towards the Fundy Trail Parkway.

* Reduced visibility will make driving tricky, so give yourself extra time, particularly on King Street's steep climb and descent.

You know how it is here, the weather turns on a dime with the Bay of Fundy pushing things around. This isn't just a drizzle; this is the kind of system that puts the Reversing Falls into overdrive, right? Keep an eye on those basement windows and prepare for some localized puddles. The City of Saint John typically has crews out for storm drain management, especially uptown, but with this kind of warning, it's always best to be prepared yourself. Stay safe out there today.

Keith and the crew are talking about this on the show right now — catch it live at mornings.live.
