Your City Hall really quieted down, eh?
Good morning from the Fundy shore — the tide's turning, and so is New Brunswick. Let's get into it.
Right, if you've been reading the Morning Wire this week, you've probably noticed a pattern developing down at Saint John City Hall. It's been quieter than a dory without a motor, I'll tell you what. The big buzz, or lack thereof, has been about our local civic data. It seems the well's run dry, or the tap's been turned off, for new information coming out of the city's open data portal.
### Where'd the Data Go?
It's been a real head-scratcher. No new civic data means we're left guessing a bit, right? Typically, we'd see updates on all sorts of things, from traffic patterns around Harbour Station to housing starts over in Millidgeville.
* No new open data from Saint John City Hall.
* This impacts our ability to report on local trends and city initiatives.
* It's like trying to navigate the Bay of Fundy without a tide chart.
I'll tell you what, it makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes, eh? When the data stops flowing, it’s harder for us to give you the full picture of what your city council and departments are up to. For a city that's always trying to show it's moving forward, this little hiccup feels a bit like a step back. Hopefully, they get it sorted out faster than you can say "Reversing Falls."
