Your City Hall's silence is deafening, right?
Good morning from the Fundy shore — the tide's turning, and so is New Brunswick. Let's get into it.
I'll tell you what, this past week at Saint John City Hall has been something else. Or, more accurately, it’s been nothing at all. We've been looking for fresh civic data, for any kind of update to chew on, and it's been quieter than a foghorn on a clear day out by Partridge Island.
We saw pretty much nothing come through the open data portal. It’s been a real head-scratcher, especially when you consider all the talk about transparency and making things easier for us regular folks.
* No new datasets released.
* The usual updates seem to have dried up.
* City Hall was a ghost town for public information.
It leaves you wondering, doesn't it? What's going on behind those doors on Charlotte Street? For a city like ours, trying to move forward, this kind of information blackout just doesn't sit right. We need to know what's happening to make sense of our own backyards, whether it's about the harbour or the east side.
