Your City Hall is messing with people's lives.
Okay so, big news coming out of City Hall today, and it's not the usual stuff about parking permits or street sweeping. The Mayor's office, specifically Mayor Lurie’s staff, put out a release yesterday, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, about a DACA delay impacting one of their own. This isn't just some abstract policy issue; it's about a real person, a staffer, whose life is in limbo.
### DACA Delays Hitting Home
The release, titled "‘They want us to break’: Mayor Lurie staffer’s life in limbo amid DACA delays," really hit different. It's one thing to hear about DACA delays in the abstract, but when it’s someone working right there at City Hall, it makes it super concrete. This staffer, who remains unnamed in the release, is essentially facing an uncertain future because of these delays. It shows how these federal issues ripple down and affect our city directly. We're a city built on immigrants, fam, and this kind of instability is messed up.
Also on the radar, though way less serious, is the District 4 supervisor race. A Monday, April 27, 2026 release called it "San Francisco’s loudest and silliest race. As predicted." Anyone who knows the Sunset knows that D4 can get spicy, but "silliest" is a strong word, even for City Hall.
We'll be watching to see how the Mayor's office supports their staffer and if this DACA situation spurs any local action.
That's the City, fam — fog, hills, and all.
