Your councillors just approved new congestion plans 6-0.

You won't believe what's happening downtown right now

Okay but real talk—it's getting wild out there, fam. Toronto Fire Services dispatched to an "Alarm Single Source" incident just now, 2026-04-09 at 2:31:20 PM. We don't have the exact location yet, but fire crews are on the move. Always a good reminder to stay safe, especially with all the construction going on downtown. Last thing we need is a surprise mid-afternoon situation, you know?

### Congestion and Electric Dreams at City Hall

Meanwhile, the Infrastructure and Environment Committee was busy on April 7, 2026, approving some major things. Councillor Dianne Saxe voted "Yes" on both the "Congestion Management Plan - 2026 Spring Update" and "The Electrification Advantage." Both motions carried, 6-0 and 4-0 respectively, so that's a done deal. Anthony Perruzza voted "Yes" on the Congestion Plan but was absent for "The Electrification Advantage," and James Pasternak was also absent for that one.

Real talk, this is Toronto — stay up.

My crew talks about all this and more every morning; tune in at mornings.live!
