Two alarms just went off in Toronto. What's happening?

Your morning alarms are going off now

Okay but real talk, fam, two active alarm calls just dropped this morning from our emergency monitors, dispatched at 7:07:47 AM and 7:24:03 AM on 2026-04-11. The exact locations are still pending, so stay alert out there. Toronto Fire is on it, for sure. We’ll be watching those updates like hawks, because you know things can change fast in this city.

### Council Pushes for Greener Toronto

Meanwhile, at City Hall, the Infrastructure and Environment Committee was busy. On 2026-04-07, they voted to carry both the "Congestion Management Plan - 2026 Spring Update" and "The Electrification Advantage" initiatives. Councillor Dianne Saxe voted "Yes" on both, helping them pass with 6-0 and 4-0 votes respectively. Councillors Anthony Perruzza and James Pasternak were absent for the electrification vote, which is something to note, but Perruzza did vote "Yes" on the congestion plan.

What this means for us is City Hall is trying to tackle traffic and push for more electric infrastructure. Real talk, this is Toronto — stay up.
