Your commute is about to get a 6-0 fix.

Your traffic woes just got a City Hall update

Okay but real talk, fam, if you're stuck on the DVP every morning, or trying to navigate Kingston Road, you know Toronto's traffic is *wild*. So it's no shocker that the Infrastructure and Environment Committee was all over the Congestion Management Plan – 2026 Spring Update. On April 7th, this committee voted to carry it, with Dianne Saxe and Anthony Perruzza both voting 'Yes'. It passed 6-0, which means everyone on that committee agrees it's a mess out there.

These plans usually mean things like better signal timing, maybe some smarter diversions when there's an accident, or even looking at how delivery trucks impact our roads. It's all about trying to make the city move, even when it feels like we're just going to crawl to a halt.

Then, on the same day, they also tackled "The Electrification Advantage." This passed too, with Dianne Saxe voting 'Yes' on that one, making it a 4-0 carry. This is a big deal for the city's environmental goals, looking at how Toronto can use more electric stuff to cut emissions. You know, less carbon, cleaner air, all that. It’s good for us, dude.

What to watch for now is how these plans actually roll out on the streets. Will we feel a difference? Will my commute from Scarborough Town Centre actually get easier? We'll see, fam.

Real talk, this is Toronto — stay up.
