Your City Hall just approved two new ice cream bikes!

Your City Hall just got a whole lot more fun

Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine. We're talking City Hall this morning, because even when the fog rolls in and you can barely see the float planes landing, decisions are being made.

What's really catching my eye this week? Well, here's the thing. While we're all enjoying the quiet hum of island life, Victoria's entrepreneurial spirit is quite alive, it seems.

* **New Ice Cream on Wheels:** Two new business licences were just issued for HAZELS ICE CREAM LTD, both for bicycle vendors. Licence #40784 and #40447, to be precise. Mobile ice cream, on a bike, feels very Victoria, doesn't it? Like a little treat just pedalling along the Inner Harbour, perhaps.

* **Arcadia Amusement:** And then there's ARCADIA, an "Entertainment - Amusement Centre" at 707 Johnson Street, which just received licence #48095. An amusement centre. In Victoria. It's not exactly the Butchart Gardens, is it? But it does suggest a new kind of energy for the downtown core.

These new licences, sourced directly from the city's recent business licence data, indicate a little more vibrancy heading our way. What does it mean for us? More options for a sweet treat after a stroll through Beacon Hill Park, and perhaps a new spot for a bit of playful distraction. It's a small shift, but it points to a city that's still finding new ways to entertain itself, post-haste.
