Victoria just approved two new ice cream bikes for your summer.

Victoria’s new ice cream rules mean more summer treats

Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine.

Well, here's the thing. While you were perhaps enjoying a quiet cup of tea or watching the fog lift over the Inner Harbour, City Hall was quietly expanding the sweet side of Victoria. We're seeing new business licenses pop up for some rather delightful ventures.

What's New in Town

Take HAZELS ICE CREAM LTD, for instance. They've just secured two mobile bicycle vendor licenses, numbers 40784 and 40447, allowing them to pedal their frozen treats right through our streets. This suggests a growing trend towards more accessible, charmingly old-fashioned ways to get your sugar fix, perhaps along the Galloping Goose Trail or through Beacon Hill Park. It’s certainly a welcome sight as the days grow longer.

* HAZELS ICE CREAM LTD now has two mobile bicycle vendor licenses.

* These licenses, 40784 and 40447, mean more mobile ice cream options.

* Arcadia, a new amusement centre, is set for 707 Johnson Street.

And speaking of new additions, Arcadia, an amusement centre, just received its entertainment license (48095) for 707 Johnson Street. It seems there’s a quiet push to add more, shall we say, *liveliness* to downtown Victoria. It makes you wonder what kind of amusement they’ll be bringing to the neighbourhood. We'll be keeping an eye on these new ventures to see how they fold into the fabric of our city.
