Two fires in Talbot-Grey this morning and your city is changing

Another fire in Talbot-Grey, stay safe out there

Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.

We've got an active situation to keep an eye on this morning, hey. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) is responding to a structure fire in Talbot-Grey, in the Elmwood - East Kildonan ward. WFPS dispatch records show incident 2026044447 was reported at 5:15:09 AM on March 26, 2026, and as of 11:54 AM, it's still active. Multiple units, including E2, L2, and R8, are on scene. This is the second structure fire reported in Talbot-Grey this morning, with incident 2026044448 being resolved just minutes later at 5:19:47 AM.

On a different note, it looks like our local scene is getting a little livelier, hey. This week, we've seen six new liquor license applications posted. You've got House of Ma’s, The Highwater Bar, John’s Fusion Kitchen, BarBurrito Fresh Mexican Grill, and Venetian Nail Spa all looking to set up shop. It's good to see new places trying to make a go of it here in the city. We'll be watching to see which ones get approved and what they bring to our neighbourhoods.

That's the latest from City Hall, folks. I'm Rosie Fontaine.

Rosie and the crew are talking about this and more, every morning, hey. Catch it live at mornings.live.
