A hazmat team is in Rockwood. What's going on?

A North Point Douglas Fire and a Hazmat in Rockwood

Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.

We've got a couple of active situations this morning that the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service has been handling. According to the latest Civic Intelligence Monitor data, WFPS responded to a structure fire in North Point Douglas, incident 2026052725, at 1:51 AM on April 10, 2026. Units D24, E6, L1, R6, and R8 were on the scene in the Mynarski ward, and the incident was resolved by 2:04 AM.

### Fire and Hazmat Details

Also this morning, a hazmat response, incident 2026052780, was initiated in Rockwood at 6:04 AM on April 10, 2026. Unit E4 was dispatched to the River Heights - Fort Garry ward. No resolution time has been posted yet for that hazmat call, so keep an eye out for updates. It's a reminder of the vital work our emergency services do around the clock, hey.

On a slightly different note, the top complaint to 311 today, with two calls in the last 24 hours, is simply "Submission." That makes you wonder what folks are submitting, doesn't it? We'll have to see if City Hall sheds any light on that. These real-time monitors help us keep tabs on the pulse of the city, from the North End to the boulevards of Rockwood.
