Another Fire in Spence This Morning, Hey
Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.
We’re tracking an active structure fire this morning, hey, in the Spence neighbourhood. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) units D3, E101, E102, L1, and R5 responded to the incident (number 2026055628) at 6:24 AM on April 15, 2026, according to real-time civic intelligence monitors. That fire is still active, right in Daniel McIntyre ward. This comes right after another structure fire in Burrows Central, which was reported at 6:41 AM and resolved by 6:49 AM. Two structure fires in less than an hour, hey.
### What Else is Happening Today
* **Traffic Concerns**: Four motor vehicle collisions were reported in just five minutes between 3:48 AM and 3:53 AM in Victoria West. Road conditions are being looked at as a possible factor.
* **New Spots Coming**: Five new liquor license applications were posted this week, including a hotel at Falcon Lake, Ukrainian House, Bistro Dansk, Kings Restaurant Middle Eastern Cuisine, and Rivers Edge Resort. Lots of new places for us to check out, hey.

We'll be keeping an eye on that situation in Spence as the morning goes on. Stay safe out there, Winnipeg.

My kokum always said, "Pîsim iskwâhtemâkânihk, pîsim astamiskâw" — the sun sets, the sun rises. We'll get through it. Keith and the crew are talking about all this and more, catch them live at mornings.live.
