Fires in William Whyte This Morning, What We Know
Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.
We're starting this morning's wire with breaking news out of the North End, hey. Our real-time civic intelligence monitors are showing two active structure fires reported in William Whyte, a neighbourhood in the Mynarski ward. The first, incident 2026063640, was reported at 5:58 AM CDT on April 28, 2026, and is still active. WFPS units 30, D10, D24, D4, E10, E11, E16, E17, E2, E5, E6, E8, L11, L16, L2, R11, R4, R8, and R9 are on scene. Another structure fire, incident 2026063634, was reported in Central Park at 5:07 AM CDT and is also active with units 18, 40, D3, E101, E102, E103, E4, GATOR91, L1, R5, and S5.
These follow a busy 24 hours for the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, according to city media releases. Just yesterday, April 27, 2026, WFPS responded to structure fires on Simcoe Street and Roberts Crescent. We'll be watching for updates from WFPS dispatch records throughout the morning. Stay safe out there, my friends.
