Three Fires in William Whyte Early This Morning, Hey
Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.
We've got some serious news coming out of the North End this morning, hey. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) has been busy in the William Whyte neighborhood. Our real-time civic intelligence monitor shows three separate structure fires reported there between 2:42 AM and 5:21 AM on May 16, 2026.
Here’s the rundown:
* **Incident 2026074174:** Reported at 2:42:32 AM, resolved by 4:57:56 AM.
* **Incident 2026074215:** Reported at 5:18:22 AM, and as of 11:52:18 AM, it's still listed as ACTIVE. WFPS units like E102, E17, and L1 were dispatched.
* **Incident 2026074216:** Reported at 5:21:03 AM, resolved just two minutes later at 5:23:07 AM.
All three incidents are listed as "Fire Rescue - Structure Fire" in the William Whyte neighbourhood, which falls under the Mynarski ward. Given the dry, windy conditions the WFPS warned about just a few days ago on May 13, this is definitely something to keep an eye on. It’s a lot of activity in one area in a short amount of time. We’ll be watching for updates from WFPS on what caused these fires and if they are connected, hey.
