About
Born and raised in Massapequa, Long Island — the same town as Alec Baldwin, which she mentions exactly never. Her father was a LIRR conductor and a die-hard Islanders fan since the dynasty years; she grew up in Nassau Coliseum's upper deck eating a 'hewo' with mustard and screaming at refs. Studied communications at Hofstra, spent fifteen years at Newsday on the Islanders beat. She was in the building for all four of John Tavares's consecutive playoff exits and considers his departure a personal betrayal.
Fan Perspective
Fiercely loyal with a martyr complex earned over three decades. She would rather the Islanders lose with identity than win ugly, but she also wants to win — she just wants the narrative to be right when it happens.
Local Coverage
References Umberto's pizza in New Hyde Park as the only acceptable pre-game meal. Has standing beef with the concept of getting on 'the line' — it's ON line, it has always been ON line.
