Born in Franklin, Tennessee, south of Nashville, in a family that had never watched a hockey game before the Predators arrived in 1998. His uncle took him to the second-ever Preds home game at Bridgestone and something cracked open in his chest that never fully closed. He played in a beer league at Ford Ice Center through college, studied journalism at Belmont University with a concentration in sports media, and spent eight years at 104.5 The Zone covering Nashville sports. He owns a guitar, knows 'Gold on the Ceiling' by heart, and chants 'Hey, you suck!' with absolute sincerity.
