Cuban-American, born in Hialeah, raised in Miramar — she didn't grow up wealthy but she grew up loud, and in South Florida that's currency. She played roller hockey on the Miramar Recreation Center courts in the 90s during the Year of the Rat and has kept a plastic rat on her desk ever since. Studied broadcast journalism at FIU, covered the Panthers beat for the Sun-Sentinel for seven years before MiTL picked her up as South Florida championship energy was at its peak.
