Your Abbotsford neighbours just won $100,000 to cruise the world

Your neighbours in Abbotsford are about to be rich

Good morning from the Valley — the fields are talking, the rivers are moving, and we've got stories from five communities that matter. And speaking of stories that matter, what a way to start your day! I know a few of you out there might be feeling a bit of that springtime wanderlust, maybe dreaming of trading the muddy fields for sandy beaches. Well, an Abbotsford couple just made that dream a whole lot closer to reality, winning a cool $100,000 on a lottery ticket. They're setting sail, literally, on a cruise! *Wah ji wah*!

**A Big Win for the Valley**

This isn't just a small scratch-and-win, folks. This is a substantial chunk of change, and it’s the first major BCLC win out here in Abbotsford since way back in September 2025. That’s a long time for us to wait for a bit of good fortune! The couple, whose names are being kept private for now, are apparently planning to spend some of their winnings on hitting the open seas. Can you imagine? One day you're probably doing your regular grocery run at the Save-On-Foods near Sumas Way, and the next you're planning a cruise ship itinerary. It just goes to show, you never know when your luck might change.

* This win brings a little bit of excitement back to the local lottery scene.

* It reminds us that even in our quiet corners of the Valley, big dreams can come true.

* It's a nice story to hear amidst all the usual news about land use and infrastructure.

It's a lovely thought, isn't it? An Abbotsford couple, maybe from down in the Matsqui area or up past Bateman Park, suddenly getting to explore the world. It just puts a little extra *ronak* in the air for everyone, a reminder that good things happen right here, too.
