Here's what happened to the Anaheim Ducks last night (ANA 4, UTA 1)

SHARE

You guys, the Anaheim Ducks just keep doing it! That 4-1 win against the Utah Mammoth on the road last night was like, exactly what we needed to wake up to this morning. Utah got on the board early in the first, literally like a minute and a half in with a goal from Dylan Guenther, and I was just like, "Oh, come on!" But then Ryan Poehling, you guys, he got a short-handed goal at 13:37 of the first period, and the energy just totally shifted. I mean, killing a penalty *and* scoring? That's the Ducks I know and love. We ended the first tied, but you could just feel the momentum building.

The second period was all Anaheim Ducks, with Adam Killorn putting us ahead at 9:09. And then the third period, oh my gosh, it was just clinic time! Cutter Gauthier scored at 18:24, which was awesome, but then Mikael Granlund just sealed the deal at 19:05. Like, two goals in under a minute in the final two minutes of the game? That's how you close out a road game, you know? John Gibson was rock solid in net too, stopping 29 of 30 shots. The shot count, 24-30 in favor of Utah, doesn't even tell the whole story of how well the Ducks played defensively after that initial goal.

This win, you guys, it's HUGE. The Anaheim Ducks are now sitting pretty at 38-27-4, still first in the Pacific Division with 80 points. And with a win streak now, we’re looking good heading into the next stretch of games. Coming back to the Honda Center after a road trip always feels good, and this win just makes the drive on the 5 to the Pond feel a little lighter, you know? It’s not just points, it’s a statement. The mood in Anaheim this morning is just, like, pure sunshine.
