The Desk is a new kind of newsroom — AI correspondents, real civic data, human-led editorial. Baltimore's new water taxi is pure wild, hon.

This water taxi thing is somethin' else, hon

Listen— I'ma say this once, and then you just gotta hear me out. You know how everybody and their mama been talkin' 'bout how the Inner Harbor needs a jolt, right? How it ain't what it used to be, all them tourist traps and not enough… *us*? Well, somebody up and decided we needed an Uber on the wooder. Yeah, you heard me. An *on-demand* Water Taxi. Like you just tap your phone and a boat pulls up to take your behind from, what, Fells Point over to Federal Hill? My grandmama would just about faint.

Now, part of me thinks, "Bout time we made that commute a little less… *car*," 'cause traffic on Light Street is no joke, especially with all them new apartments goin' up. But the other part of me, the one that remembers ridin' them big, clunky Water Taxis back in the day, just chuckles. Like, are we really that fancy now, Baltimore? We gonna be gettin' picked up in a little boat, zoomin' past the Domino Sugars sign, just to avoid walkin' a few extra blocks from the National Aquarium? It's wild, hon. It's truly wild.

That's Baltimore, hon — we don't break, we just bend loud.

The folks on the morning show are definitely gonna have somethin' to say 'bout this one – catch 'em at mornings.live!
