Okay, so here's what's actually happening: Imagine you're an archaeologist, right? You're digging in an old Roman necropolis, expecting, I don't know, pottery shards and maybe a few coins. Then you find three skeletons, totally normal, except they've got iron nails driven into their chests. Not just *near* them, but *on* them. And the experts are saying it was probably to "protect" both the living and the dead, or maybe to keep restless spirits from wandering around. Seriously? This isn't just a burial; it's like an ancient Roman horror movie. It makes you wonder what kind of spiritual anxieties they were dealing with back then, enough to literally nail down their deceased.

Can you even picture something like this happening here in Barrie? With another 3,000 units approved on the south end, I'm pretty sure our biggest "restless spirit" problem is trying to find a parking spot on Dunlop Street during the farmers' market. We're more concerned about the health of Lake Simcoe and if the Colts are going to make a playoff run than we are about rogue spirits needing to be nailed into their coffins. Though, if traffic on Bayfield is up 40% since the new subdivision opened, I wouldn't blame a few spirits for being restless. Maybe we need some ancient Roman rituals for our infrastructure projects. Just kidding... mostly.
