McMahon Stadium is "McWomahon" now. For real.

Your stadium is called McWomahon now, you heard me right

Alright, so you know McMahon Stadium? Yeah, the one by the Children's Hospital, where our Stamps play and the Flames used to freeze their butts off before the Saddledome was even a twinkle in anyone's eye. Well, for the next six weeks, you gotta start calling it "McWomahon Stadium." For real though, it ain't a typo. The Alberta Women’s Health Foundation and Calgary Wild FC, our new women’s soccer club, have teamed up to rename it as part of a campaign to raise awareness for women's health research. My initial thought? Is this a chinook in May? Because it sounds wild.

### What This Means for Calgary

This is actually a pretty neat initiative, even if it feels a bit like someone just slapped a sticker on our beloved stadium. For six weeks, you're going to see "McWomahon" everywhere, especially if you're heading down Crowchild Trail past the university. It’s all about getting folks talking about women’s health, which, let's be honest, doesn't always get the same airtime as, say, a Flames playoff run (if only, right?). It's a clever way to use a landmark that's usually all about touchdowns and Grey Cups to shine a light on something really important.

* **Awareness:** It's going to make people do a double-take and ask, "What the heck is McWomahon?" That's the whole point — sparking conversation.

* **Local Teams:** It's cool to see Calgary Wild FC, our new women's professional soccer team, getting behind this. It ties our city's growing sports scene to a bigger cause.

* **Community:** This is Calgary – we've seen the boom, we've seen the bust, and we showed up anyway. This kind of creative, community-focused campaign, even if it feels a little out-of-the-box, is totally us. It’s about building up our city in unexpected ways, much like how we turn a gravel lot into the greatest outdoor show on earth every July.

So next time you're driving by, give a little nod to McWomahon Stadium. It's a reminder that even our iconic spots can get a fresh coat of paint for a good cause.
