The Carolina Panthers draft is over and Charlotte has got thoughts!

Alright now, look, the Carolina Panthers draft is done, and I'm not gonna lie, sitting here at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille watching these picks come in, there were some moments where I was scratching my head harder than a cat on a wool sweater. We know what this city needed, we been talking about it since the last season ended at Bank of America Stadium – some real offensive firepower to give Bryce Young some help, and shoring up that defensive line. When we took Xavier Legette out of South Carolina in the first round, the place erupted! That's a big, physical receiver, the kind of guy who can go up and get it. Everyone here was hyped, thinking, 'Finally, we giving Bryce some targets.' Then Jonathon Brooks at running back, that felt right, too. We need that ground game to open up everything else. The energy in Charlotte was high, man, it felt like a fresh start.

But then, you look at the whole picture, and some of those later picks… I mean, can we talk about the sheer number of defensive backs and offensive linemen we brought in as undrafted free agents? Jaylon Guilbeau, Cam Miller, Devonta Smith, Will Lee III at corner; Aaron Hall, Parker Petersen, Lee Hunter at defensive tackle. On the offensive line, Isaia Glass, Albert Reese IV, Monroe Freeling, and Sam Hecht at center. It feels like we’re throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks in the trenches, both sides of the ball. We also picked up a quarterback, Haynes King, and some more receivers in Kobe Prentice and Chris Brazzell II. It’s a volume play, no doubt. The mood in Charlotte, after the initial high of Legette, has settled into a cautious, 'Alright, let's see what happens,' kind of vibe. Nobody's furious, but it's not pure euphoria either. It’s a very Charlotte kind of mood – hopeful, but with a healthy dose of 'prove it.'

**Overall Draft Grade: Intriguing**

The Carolina Panthers made their picks. Now it’s up to these young men to show out. That's the truth from Charlotte, not from outside it. Keep Pounding from West Charlotte — we don't quit, we never have.

My folks on the morning show are still breaking all this down, go check 'em out live at mornings.live.
