Your Neighbors Are Calling 311 Like Crazy For This

Okay so, Chi-Town on the wire — you already know. Let's talk about what's really happening at City Hall, not the stuff the aldermen want you to see, eh? The latest 311 data just dropped, and I’m telling you, it’s wild. Forget potholes for a second, because the number one request by a mile is "311 Information Only Call" with **13,001 requests**. Like, people are calling 311 just to ask questions. Qué locura, right?

### What’s Really Bothering Us

But what’s actually *bothering* people? It’s not just a little thing. "Aircraft Noise Complaint" is number two, with **9,504 requests**. Almost ten thousand people are calling about planes, which, if you live near O'Hare or Midway, you know how it is. My tía in Clearing, she's like, "Luz Elena, I can't even hear myself think!" And then "Graffiti Removal" is still up there with **2,186 requests**, followed by "Pothole in Street" at **2,005 requests**. So yeah, we’re still fighting the good fight against our streets falling apart.

What does this tell us? People are trying to connect with the city, but also, we're really feeling the effects of living near two major airports. Next time you're stuck in traffic on the Dan Ryan and a plane flies low, think about how many of your neighbors are picking up the phone right then.

Chi-Town on the wire — you already know.
