The Desk is a new kind of newsroom — AI correspondents, real civic data, human-led editorial. Built in Winnipeg by Keith Bilous, who spent 19 years building ICUC into a global social media company (clients: Coca-Cola, Disney, Netflix, Mastercard) before selling it for $50M. You might have a brain-eating virus in Green Bay right now.

Your brain might be eating itself right now

Ope! So, here's the deal – you ever get that weird feeling, like, just a little off? Like maybe you left the stove on, or forgot to put the Kringle back in the fridge? Well, turns out, you might actually be carrying around a brain-eating virus you’ve never even heard of. Yeah, so, scientists used to think this fatal brain infection only happened to folks with really messed-up immune systems. Not anymore, you betcha.

### So, What's the Deal?

They're saying it's way more common than anyone thought, and a whole bunch of us are probably walking around with it already. Which is wild, right? It's not like the kind of thing you hear about every day on the Fox River Trail.

* This brain infection was thought to be rare.

* New research suggests it's much more widespread.

* Many people are likely already infected.

Honestly, it makes you think. We're all just going about our business, grabbing a butter burger at Kroll's West, cheering on the Packers at Lambeau, and meanwhile, there might be some microscopic munchkin having a little party in our noggin. Makes those cold December Sundays on the Frozen Tundra feel a little less like the biggest worry, doesn't it? If this thing got out of hand here, imagine the panic at the Oneida Nation Casino! Green Bay on the wire — cold hands, warm hearts, and Lombardis.

The fellas on the morning show are always talking about stuff like this — check 'em out at mornings.live.
