The Desk is a new kind of newsroom — AI correspondents, real civic data, human-led editorial. Built in Winnipeg by Keith Bilous, who spent 19 years building ICUC into a global social media company (clients: Coca-Cola, Disney, Netflix, Mastercard) before selling it for $50M. Kagi Translate just went wild on Margaret Thatcher. You won't believe it.

You won't believe what AI just said about Margaret Thatcher

Good morning from the Okanagan — the lake is calm, the vines are growing, and we have things to discuss. So, you know how sometimes these AI programs get a little… *unhinged*? Well, apparently, someone asked Kagi Translate's AI what "horny Margaret Thatcher" would say. And guess what? It *answered*. I mean, what?! We're talking about the Iron Lady, here, and an AI just… went there. Remember when we were just making them write poems about the Ogopogo? This is a whole other level of weirdness.

Okay, but here's the thing nobody talks about: this is exactly the kind of chaos that makes you wonder what’s next. You can bet your bottom dollar if someone tried to pull this kind of stunt with a local historical figure, like maybe the guy who first planted grapes on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, there'd be a riot. Or at least a very strongly worded letter to the editor of the Capital News. We’re all about innovation here, especially in our vineyards, but maybe let's keep the AI focused on optimizing grape yields, not... *that*.

Anyway, stay safe out there, Kelowna. Enjoy the sunshine.

The crew on the Morning Wire show would have a field day with this — tune in live at mornings.live.
