Your Montreal Canadiens Woke Up Just In Time Last Night

Tabarnac, what a rollercoaster ride at the Bell Centre last night. For those of you who hit the sac early or maybe had one too many Labatts, the Montreal Canadiens pulled off a stunning 5-2 comeback victory against the Carolina Hurricanes. It started rough, *très* rough. N. Ehlers got a power play goal at 2:36 of the first, then J. Staal piled on at 7:09. I was already doing my rosary beads, thinking it was going to be one of *those* nights. But then, *boom*, Oliver Kapanen, with help from Jayden Struble and Ivan Demidov, got one back at 12:11 of the first, giving us a sliver of hope. That first period was a test of faith, I tell you.

The boys truly woke up in the second. Cole Caufield, bless his heart, tied it up at 5:49 with a beauty from Nick Suzuki and Juraj Slafkovský. And then, *le jeune Slaf*, Juraj Slafkovský himself, gave us the lead at 9:19, assisted by Caufield and Noah Dobson. The place erupted, it was like a Saturday night on Rue Sainte-Catherine. Ivan Demidov then extended the lead in the third at 13:53, and Jake Evans sealed it with an empty-netter at 19:00. The Canadiens got outshot 43-19, which is a bit… *inquiétant*, but a win is a win, especially against a team like Carolina. It shows a lot of heart, *non*?

This win is huge for the Montreal Canadiens. We’re now 39-21-10, sitting third in the Atlantic with 88 points, and we’re on a winning streak. Our last ten games? 6-3-1, which is solid. This kind of comeback against a strong team like the Hurricanes builds character and confidence, something we'll need as the season winds down. The mood in Montreal this morning? It's like the sun is shining a little brighter over the Plateau, and your coffee from St-Viateur tastes just a little bit sweeter. We're not out of the woods, but we're fighting, and that's all we can ask for.
