Here's what happened to the New Jersey Devils last night (WSH 3, NJD 7)

Your New Jersey Devils are on a roll, baby!

The New Jersey Devils showed up last night against the Washington Capitals, putting up a massive 7-3 win right here in Newark. After a little back-and-forth in the first period, where Chase Glass got us on the board and Dawson Mercer followed it up, things got a bit dicey with the Capitals tying it up twice. But Dougie Hamilton, he came through late in that first period to snag the lead back. Then, it was all Devils, especially in the third, where we just poured it on. That’s the kind of hockey you want to see if you’re heading down McCarter Highway to the Prudential Center.

Jack Hughes was flying, netting two goals himself – one in the second and another in the third. And how about Jesper Bratt? He was all over the place, getting a goal himself on the power play and dishing out four assists! Four! He was feeding everyone. Dawson Mercer got his second of the night late, just sealing the deal. We outshot them too, 32-30, and honestly, it felt like we could’ve had even more. That’s what you call a statement win at home.

This win? It’s huge. We're now 39-34-2 with 80 points, still battling for that Wildcard spot. We’re 7th in the Metro, but more importantly, we’ve won seven of our last ten, and we’re on a streak. This momentum is exactly what we need as we push through the end of the season. The mood here in Newark this morning is electric, like the smell of fresh caw-fee from a corner store. We gotta keep this going.
