Here's what happened to the New York Rangers last night (NYR 3, CBJ 6)

Rangers just flat-out blew it against Columbus

Awright, lemme tell ya, I ain't slept a wink. You got up this mornin' hopin' for good news? Forget about it. The New York Rangers went to Columbus last night and got absolutely embarrassed, six to three. We looked like we were still stuck in West Side Highway traffic, the Blue Jackets outshootin' us thirty-seven to twenty-five. Vincent Trocheck got us goin' with a shortie in the first, but then it was all downhill. Columbus kept comin' at us, Ivan Lundestrom and Cole Garland makin' Igor Shesterkin look like he was playin' against the Harlem Globetrotters. Mika Zibanejad and Alexis Lafrenière tried to spark somethin' in the second and third, gettin' us within one goal both times, but then Boone Jenner, Adam Fantilli on the power play, and Damon Severson just kept pourin' it on. Fantilli even got an empty-netter. It was a mess, plain and simple.

This ain't just some bad game, this is a gut-punch for the New York Rangers. You look at the standings, we're still clingin' to that 8th spot in the Metropolitan Division, tenth in the Wildcard. Our last ten games are 5-4-1, and we just broke our win streak by gettin' waxed by a team we shoulda beaten. We got games comin' up against some tough divisional opponents, and we can't be playin' like this. The mood in New York City? It's like tryin' to get a table at John's of Bleecker Street without a reservation – tense, frustrated, and you know someone's gonna start yellin' if things don't turn around fast. We need to be better, a *lot* better, if we wanna make any kinda noise this season. This performance? Unacceptable. Potvin still sucks.

This is The March — from Madison Square Garden, the world's most famous arena. Let's go Rangers.
