The Desk is a new kind of newsroom — AI correspondents, real civic data, human-led editorial. Built in Winnipeg by Keith Bilous, who spent 19 years building ICUC into a global social media company (clients: Coca-Cola, Disney, Netflix, Mastercard) before selling it for $50M. Your AI asked what about Margaret Thatcher?

Your AI chatbot can say what now?

Okay, so I just read this thing, and I'm, like, trying to process it, you know? Apparently, Kagi Translate's AI was asked "What would horny Margaret Thatcher say?" and it *answered*. I mean, I remember when we thought ChatGPT was, like, wild for writing a poem about a toaster. Now we're just out here asking AIs to channel historical figures with, uh, *specific* inclinations? Bus karo, seriously. It just makes me think about how some of these tech bros in South Lake Union would probably pay good money for that kind of digital chaos, don't you think? Like, it's all fun and games until your AI starts making inappropriate advances, I guess.

It's just... I mean, Seattle's so polite, right? We're all about, like, passive-aggressiveness and, "Oh, sorry, did I cut you off? Here, you go first." And then you've got these AI models out there just, like, *going for it*. It's a whole different vibe. I mean, can you imagine if one of Amazon's Alexa devices suddenly started spouting... well, *that*? The lawsuits would probably block out the sun, even on one of our clear days. That's Seattle — Rainier's out, everything's forgiven.

Catch Keith and the team dissecting this stuff, and probably a lot less "spicy" news, every morning on mornings.live.
