Your cider is in the ocean, b'y. Seriously.

Your cider is in the ocean, b'y. Seriously.

Whaddya at, b'y — this is St. John's, oldest city in North America, and we're still here. Let's go.

I'll tell ya one thing, b'y, I thought I'd heard it all. From the Caplin rolling in on da beaches 'round da Bay to da screech-ins down on George Street, you think you know what makes Newfoundland tick. But then, some brilliant mind out in eastern Newfoundland decides, "You know what dis cider needs? A good ol' dip in da Atlantic." And just like dat, they're aging their bubbly beverages *under da ocean*. I mean, come on, you gotta be from 'round here to even think of such a thing.

### Why Da Ocean?

This isn't just some gimmick for da tourists, mind you. Da company, Seaweed Cider (and yes, dat's a real name), is submerging their cider for "additional flavour." Think about it: da constant cold temperature, da gentle currents rockin' da barrels, da whole ocean vibe infusing itself into every drop. It's like sending your cider to a spa, but instead of cucumber slices, it's got codfish swimmin' by. They're doing it off da coast of Bonavista, near da Dungeon Provincial Park, and I'm tellin' ya, people are gonna be talkin' about dis from Cape Spear to da Gully.

* **Unique Flavour Profile:** Da idea is dat da ocean environment imparts a distinct taste, somethin' you won't get from aging it in a regular ol' cellar.

* **Temperature Stability:** Da ocean offers a consistently cool temperature, which is ideal for slow, controlled fermentation and aging.

* **"Only in Newfoundland":** Let's be honest, b'y, dis is peak Newfoundland ingenuity. We've always found ways to work wit' da sea, and now our cider is gettin' in on da action too.

For us in St. John's, it's a reminder of da incredible creativity dat bubbles up from dis rock. You might be walkin' down Water Street, smellin' da salt in da air, and knowin' full well dat somewhere out dere, a bunch of cider is gettin' its sea legs. It's not just about makin' a drink; it's about makin' a story, and dat's somethin' we do better dan anyone else, b'y.

Keith and da crew are probably laughin' about dis right now — catch 'em live every morning at mornings.live.
