Your kids are making history in New York

Look—I'm gonna be real with you. When I hear "Carnegie Hall," I think of legends, of the best of the best. And then I hear it's a choir from Oakville High School, down in South County, making that trip to New York City, performing on that hallowed stage? That just makes your chest puff out a little bit, you know? Forty kids from right here in St. Louis, heading up Highway 55, then probably flying out of Lambert, to stand where so many greats have stood. It’s not just a field trip; it’s a moment they’ll never forget, and it shows the world what St. Louis talent can do.

### A St. Louis Moment on a National Stage

These kids, they weren’t just visiting; they were *performing*. From April 9th to the 12th, they were there, representing our city, our schools. You think about all the hours they put in, practicing after school, giving up their weekends, all for this. It's a reminder that even when the national news tries to paint us with a broad, often negative, brush, there's always something incredible happening right here, in our neighborhoods, with our kids. Whether you're from Oakville, or just across the river in Illinois, or up on the North Side, this is a win for all of St. Louis.

Here's why this matters to us:

* **Pride in Our Schools:** It highlights the dedication of teachers and students in our public schools.

* **National Recognition:** Puts St. Louis on the map for artistic excellence, not just sports.

* **Inspiration for Others:** Shows other young folks in places like the Ville or Tower Grove South what's possible with hard work.

That's the Lou — we're still here and we're not leaving.

My man Keith over at mornings.live is probably already talking about this; you should check him out.
