Your Oakville High kids are going to Carnegie Hall. Seriously.

Your kids are performing at Carnegie Hall, can you believe it?

Look—when I heard that forty kids from Oakville High are headed to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City, my mind just kinda stopped for a second. Carnegie Hall, man. That's a place where legends sing, where history gets made. For kids from South County, from right here in St. Louis, to get that chance? That's not just a school trip; that's a moment they’ll tell their grandkids about. It’s a testament to the talent we got in this city, and the teachers who are pouring their hearts into these kids.

### Why This Matters for the Lou

I'm gonna be real with you, sometimes it feels like the national news only ever talks about St. Louis when something bad happens. They talk about population loss, about crime, about all the things we're trying to fix. But they don't always talk about:

* The incredible talent rising up in our schools.

* The dedicated teachers pushing our kids to achieve greatness.

* The moments of pure joy and pride that bind us together.

This isn't just about Oakville High; it’s about St. Louis showing up on a national stage for something beautiful. It reminds you that even with all our struggles, we are still producing incredible young people who are going out and making their mark. It’s something to be genuinely proud of, something that really makes you feel that Gateway City pride.

It's a reminder that no matter what anybody outside this city says, we're still here, building, creating, and pushing for more. These kids, singing their hearts out in a place like Carnegie Hall, they're carrying a piece of St. Louis with them, sharing our spirit with the world. That's the Lou — we're still here and we're not leaving.

My man Keith and the crew are probably gonna be buzzing about this one on the show this morning — tune in live at mornings.live.
