Here's what happened to the Utah Mammoth last night (ANA 4, UTA 1)

That was a tough one last night, you guys.

## Your Mammoth hit a snag against Anaheim

Oh my heck, Salt Lake City. That was not the outcome we were hoping for at the Delta Center last night, with the Utah Mammoth falling 4-1 to the Anaheim Ducks. After a solid start where Dylan Guenther netted a power-play goal just 1:48 into the first period, it felt like we were really going to set the tone. Shane Durzi and J.J. Peterka got the assists, and the energy in the building was electric. But then, the Ducks answered back with a short-handed goal from Ryan Poehling in the first, and honestly, we just couldn't seem to find our rhythm again after that. Anaheim kept the pressure on, and unfortunately, we couldn't break through their netminder.

The Ducks really pulled away in the second and third periods. Adam Killorn scored for them in the second, and then in the third, Cutter Gauthier and Mikael Granlund sealed the deal with two more goals late in the game, the last one coming with only 55 seconds left. It was a physical game, with the Ducks outshooting the Utah Mammoth 30-24. Our guys fought hard, but the puck just wasn't bouncing our way. You could feel a little bit of the air go out of the building, which is tough when you're looking out at the Wasatch Range from your seat, hoping for that rally.

### What this means for Salt Lake City

This loss brings our record to 36-28-6, keeping us at 78 points and still holding onto that Wildcard #1 spot in the Central Division. We're 5-3-2 in our last 10, which isn't bad, but a losing streak right now is definitely not what we need. This morning, there's a definite buzz around Salt Lake City — a little bit of "fetch, that was a missed opportunity." We've got a busy week ahead, and every game is crucial as we push for the playoffs. We need to reset, refocus, and bring that relentless Mammoth energy back to the ice.

Tusks up, Utah. We're just getting started.

The guys on the morning show are probably going to have a lot to say about this one, you should totally check them out at mornings.live.
