Did Vancouver Council just say no to *two* projects?

You won't believe what our city council just said no to

Alright. So, you know how it feels like Vancouver city council pretty much rubber-stamps every single development proposal that comes across their desks? Especially anything that promises more housing, no matter how... *imaginative* the architecture? Well, something shifted this week. Two high-profile projects, the kind that usually get pushed through with a sigh and a 'well, what can you do?'... they got shut down. Just like that.

And it wasn't just about policy, apparently. There's a whisper of politics in the air, a sense that maybe, just maybe, the folks up on Cambie Street are starting to feel the pressure from those of us walking the seawall, wondering where our city went. It's rare enough to see anything rejected, but two in one week? It makes you wonder if we're seeing the first tiny ripples of a change in the tide, or if it's just a momentary pause before the next glass tower goes up, blocking another view of the North Shore mountains.

Beautiful out here. Complicated in here. That's the coast.

Mornings.live is where the real talk happens on this and more. Tune in.
