Brandon's mayor is defending THAT measles outbreak?

SHARE

You won't believe what our mayor is defending.

Okay, so I just read about Brandon's mayor defending the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair after a measles outbreak there, and honestly, hey, it got me thinking. You know how we are out here. We love our fairs, our festivals, our chances to get together and celebrate. From Festival du Voyageur down at Fort Gibraltar in the dead of winter to Folk Fest up Birds Hill way in the summer, we find reasons to gather, no matter what. But a measles outbreak? That's… that's not what anyone signed up for, hey.

It’s a tough spot, for sure. You want to support the big events that bring people together, that celebrate our agricultural roots and give families a good time. It’s part of the fabric of Manitoba, this kind of gathering. But you also want everyone to be safe, especially when we're talking about something like measles. It's a reminder that even when we’re just trying to have a good time, there’s always something to consider, hey? We might be tough, but we still need to be smart.

Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.

The folks on the morning show are always talking about these kinds of things. You should listen to them live at mornings.live.
